What did a witness say and what not? In court, all parties involved are dependent on their transcripts. Minister of Justice Buschmann now wants to allow video and audio recordings. He is right. In part anyway.

First of all: Nobody wants to turn German court hearings into show events. No one wants them streamed on Youtube. Nobody wants conditions like in the USA, where the actors Johnny Depp and Amber Heard had to publicly reveal the most intimate details in court. It’s not even about being able to follow a trial later on the court’s website. Nevertheless, a dispute has broken out between the Federal Ministry of Justice and the judiciary, as if that were exactly what was about to happen.
