Criminal justice is interested in the financial movements of Go Sport – Liberation

A preliminary investigation has been opened by the Grenoble prosecutor’s office for “abuse of corporate assets”. More than 50 million euros taken from the accounts of this company in difficulty are the subject of investigations.

In the grip of financial difficulties, the sporting goods sales company is awaiting a judgment from the Grenoble commercial court which will rule on Thursday on the continuation of the activity, or the receivership of the band. But the precarious situation of Go Sport is also of interest to criminal justice. According to information from Releasethe Grenoble public prosecutor’s office has opened a judicial investigation for “misuse of corporate assets”, on the financial movements in the company’s accounts. The research section of the Grenoble gendarmerie was in charge of the investigations. Several hearings have already taken place.

A symbolic euro

The reports of the auditors of Go Sport, the firms KPMG and Ernst & Young, are at the origin of this procedure. Those responsible for verifying the sincerity of the company’s accounts have detected movements of funds that have caught their attention. They then alerted the Grenoble prosecutor’s office as required by law. First of all, nearly 18 million euros would have been taken from the cash to finance the ready-to-wear company Camaïeu placed in compulsory liquidation on September 28, 2022. That
