A man attacked children with a knife in a park in Annecy, France. Several are injured. The police overpowered the alleged perpetrator.
After the knife attack on several children in eastern France, French President Emmanuel Macron was dismayed. “The nation is in shock,” he wrote on Twitter. The attack was “absolutely cowardly”.
An attacker injured several small children with a knife in a park in Annecy on Thursday morning. As the police of the German Press Agency said, two of them and one adult were in mortal danger. Macron wrote: “Our thoughts are with you and your families, as well as the emergency services deployed.”
According to police, two other children, around the age of three, were slightly injured. The alleged perpetrator was arrested. The exact circumstances of the crime were initially unclear. France’s Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne wanted to drive to the scene after the attack.
