With a large contingent, the police are looking for the perpetrators after a money transporter robbery throughout northern Germany. Helicopters and drones are also used.

In a money transporter robbery in Lübeck, three men stole a six-figure sum of cash on Wednesday, according to initial police findings. They had attacked a money transporter in front of the headquarters of a bakery chain in the morning, the police said. They then fled in a white van. However, they left the vehicle near the scene of the crime and switched to a van from a rental company.

After the robbery, the police in northern Germany launched a large manhunt for the suspects. A “massive contingent” is in action, said a police spokesman for the German Press Agency. The search measures also extended to the neighboring federal states of Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Lower Saxony.

The perpetrators were armed

In the robbery, the perpetrators are said to have stolen the firearm from a service employee using force. According to police, two of the men were armed. At the time of the robbery, the man from the cash-in-transit company was busy unloading the van. The employee was not injured.

The police warned against approaching the suspects. Witnesses should inform the police. In addition to police helicopters, drones were also used in the manhunt that was initiated. “We are searching in all directions,” said a police spokesman.
