After the knife attack with two dead, the witnesses continue to be questioned. The suspect is now in custody in Neumünster. The injured are still being treated in hospital.

After the deadly knife attack on a regional train in Brokstedt, Schleswig-Holstein, three injured people were treated in hospitals on Monday. The condition of a 62-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman from Schleswig-Holstein and a 27-year-old from Hamburg is currently stable, the police reported. The three injured are conscious. Two other 22-year-old injured people from Schleswig-Holstein have already left the hospital.

According to the police, the investigators continue to record and question those involved and witnesses of the deadly knife attack. Almost 120 people have now been recorded. This number is subject to change after the survey is completed.

According to the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of the Interior, the alleged perpetrator has now been remanded in custody in Neumünster. Last Thursday, 33-year-old Ibrahim A. was brought before a magistrate in Itzehoe.

Last Wednesday (January 25), two people were killed on the regional train from Kiel to Hamburg, a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old. Five people were injured. An arrest warrant was issued against the alleged perpetrator for two counts of murder and four counts of attempted manslaughter.

The 33-year-old stateless Palestinian was only released from custody in Hamburg a few days before the crime on the train. Ibrahim A. was sentenced to one year in prison and was also imprisoned for a year. But since the verdict was not final, the time was officially considered pre-trial detention and not criminal detention.
