Among other things, he is said to have forced young women to take part in commercially distributed sex videos. After his arrest, Andrew Tate is in custody – he must remain there.

British-American influencer Andrew Tate remains in custody in Romania. A court in Bucharest rejected an appeal against the pre-trial detention made by Tate, his brother Tristan Tate, who is also in prison, and two alleged Romanian accomplices, according to Romanian media.

The four were arrested on suspicion of rape, human trafficking and money laundering at the end of December, immediately afterwards a court ordered a 30-day pre-trial detention. An objection could be lodged against this.

The suspects are said to have forced young women to take part in commercially distributed sex videos, which media reports say were produced in a villa in the village of Voluntari, near Bucharest. The Tate brothers have been in the sights of Romanian investigators since April 2021.

Andrew Tate rose to fame in 2016 when he was kicked out of Britain’s Big Brother show for leaking a video of him beating a woman with a belt.
