A man is shot, the shooter escapes. “Investigations are in full swing,” police said.

The public prosecutor’s office in Frankfurt has taken over the investigation into the deadly shots in the Rödelheim district. However, it was still unclear whether there was any evidence of the perpetrator. “Investigations are in full swing,” said a police spokesman. He did not give details.

A man was shot dead in the north-west of Frankfurt on Monday evening. Local residents found the injured 56-year-old on the sidewalk and alerted the police. The injured died on the street. Officers cordoned off the crime scene. The shooter fled.

Just last week, a 38-year-old man was shot dead on the street in Hesse’s largest city. The police arrested the suspected shooter. The 40-year-old from Azerbaijan was taken into custody. He is being investigated on suspicion of manslaughter.
