Watch the video: Relief for Matthias Maurer and his crew reaches the ISS.

There was a big hello on Thursday night on the International Space Station ISS. Because the replacement for the German astronaut Matthias Maurer and his team has arrived. Around 20 hours after the launch of the launch vehicle, the Dragon capsule, owned by the private space company SpaceX, docked with the space station. The four astronauts – two men and two women – will stay on the ISS for around six months and carry out numerous scientific experiments there. In addition to three Americans, an Italian is also part of the team. With the American Jessica Watkins, a black woman will be in space for a longer period of time for the first time. Maurer and three of his American colleagues are scheduled to return to Earth next week.
