Credit Suisse: Nobody wants to talk about who is to blame – economy

From

Karin Keller-Sutter, the Swiss Minister of Finance, seems a bit helpless on this Sunday evening, which is so drastic for her country. “You can’t regulate cultural mistakes away,” she says, apparently lightly. It is an unintentionally meaningful sentence that tells a lot about this crisis surrounding the scandalous bank Credit Suisse and those responsible for it – and also a lot about Switzerland itself. So you really can’t do that? Or have politicians and supervisors simply slept? What is supervisory law actually worth if, unfortunately, unfortunately, nothing can be done about a problematic business culture like the one at CS?
