Creative invention: 10-year-old boy invents cap that rotates with the sun

Watch the video: “I was excited that the sun was glaring” – 10-year-old develops a rotating cap.

A cap that turns with the sun?

Sounds crazy, but it really is.

Daniel had the idea for the unusual hat and applied to the “Jugend forscht” competition with it.

“I was upset that the sun glared on me in the car all the time, so I wanted to make a cap that aligns with the sun.”

After registering, the ten-year-old had two months to work out his project.

The student thought about and carried out everything himself.

Daniel’s father taught him 3D drawing, but it was up to the ten-year-old to implement it.

“First I drew a splint. I also drew the chain drive myself. With switches I tried out how the motor can rotate back and forth. I connected the two light sensors on a wooden board.”

With his creative idea, Daniel took first place in the regional competition and in the Bavarian state competition.

At school he proudly presents his cap.

Will the project go into production?

Not at first, because the student collected the components himself from a scrap hoard.
