A concealer makes pimples, redness and dark circles disappear quickly and easily. Here we tell you which product suits your skin and how to use it.

We all want smooth and healthy skin. In reality, however, most of us struggle with dark circles, blemishes and redness. It’s no wonder that concealer sticks are among the most popular cosmetic products, because they make small blemishes disappear quickly and conjure up a fresh and clear complexion. But which shade is the right one for you and what should you pay attention to when applying it? We give you tips and tricks for an optimal result.

What is the difference between cover stick and concealer?

Both a concealer and a concealer are intended to cover redness, shadows or imperfections in order to make the skin appear more even. A concealer, however, is more liquid, is most commonly used under the eyes, and often provides a glowing finish. A concealer is firmer, matte, and has more color pigment and coverage, making it better for covering pimples and severe redness.

How to use a concealer correctly?

Apply a concealer before foundation. It is best to use a day cream first and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then dab some cover stick or concealer on the skin area to be treated. For a natural result, don’t overdo it. Gently work the product into the skin with your fingertips, a brush or a make-up sponge. Then you can apply foundation or powder.

Which color is right for you?

The shade of the concealer should match your natural skin color and be as invisible as possible after application. If you’re using the pencil to cover up under-eye circles, choose a shade that’s a shade lighter than your skin tone. This makes your eyes look more awake and fresh.

Tip: Sometimes it pays to so-called Color corrector concealers easy to grasp: A cover stick with a green undertone, for example, is particularly good at neutralizing redness. A yellow stick helps purple veins and violet helps create a glowing complexion.
