Advisors from the US epidemic agency are considering booster vaccination
An advisory body to the US Disease Agency CDC is examining the need for booster vaccinations. The committee wants to meet on Friday to evaluate the latest data, the agency said. The reason is the increase in new corona infections in the USA due to the more contagious Delta variant. Israel is already offering a third vaccination to people over 60 with the product from BioNTech / Pfizer.

RKI registers 2480 new infections – the incidence is 23.5
The seven-day incidence continues to rise. According to the Robert Koch Institute in the morning, it was 23.5 – the previous day the value was 23.1, a week ago it was 17.9. The health authorities in Germany reported 2480 new corona infections to the RKI within one day. A week ago the value for Germany was 1766 infections. According to the new information, 19 deaths were recorded across Germany within 24 hours. A week ago there were also 19 deaths. The RKI has counted 3,794,429 detected infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the beginning of the pandemic.

Draft resolution: Federal and state governments plan to end free rapid tests in October
The previously free corona rapid tests are to be abolished for most citizens in October. This emerges from the draft of a draft resolution for today’s federal-state conference, from which several media cite unanimously. The end of the free tests is justified with the vaccination offer now valid for all adults. A specific date for the end was not given in the paper. According to the draft resolution, however, the free test options should remain for people who cannot be vaccinated or for whom there is no general vaccination recommendation. Pregnant women as well as children and adolescents under 18 years of age are cited as examples.
