The seven-day incidence in the Munich district continues to climb. On Friday, the guideline value, which indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were infected with the coronavirus in the past week, was 38.5, on Thursday it had already risen to 35.1. This means that the incidence has almost doubled within a week, compared to just 19.7 on the previous Friday.
The development is also expressed in the number of people currently infected. This had already exceeded the mark of 200 on Thursday and was 203, on Friday the district office reported that the corona virus had been detected in 210 people. The number of currently infected people in the district was similarly high last at the end of May. The number of documented new infections fluctuates, after 28 on Thursday, the district office reported 17 new cases on Friday.
For people in the Munich district, the further increase in incidence from Monday, August 23, could have consequences, as Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek announced on Friday that the warning value for tests, especially in indoor areas, would be reduced from 50 to 35. In other words, if the seven-day incidence is above 35, a negative rapid test, which must not be older than 24 hours, is necessary for access to events in closed rooms, indoor catering, leisure facilities, and indoor sports, for PCR tests, the time limit is 48 hours. Fully vaccinated persons (from the 15th day after the second vaccination) and those who have recovered are still exempt from the obligation to provide evidence of a test.
Education Minister Michael Piazolo (Free Voters) and Health Minister Holetschek have announced that from September onwards they will introduce lollipop test procedures in primary and special schools, in which a saliva sample is taken by placing the children on a swab for 30 seconds as on a lollipop suck. In the Munich district, this applies to the support center in Unterhaching and the Rupert Egenberger School in Unterschleißheim. These pool tests are a good solution to enable children to attend school and social contacts, said Health Minister Holetschek
For sporting events, the rule is: a maximum of 50 percent of the seats may be occupied or a maximum of 25,000 spectators may be admitted. For SpVgg Unterhaching, this means that they could play in front of a maximum of 7500 fans.
