That’s behind the emblem

The chic logo of two-tone, intertwined flowers was of course not chosen at random. “The design is inspired by King Charles’ love for our planet, nature and his deep connection with the natural world,” explains Ive. “The emblem expresses the joyful optimism of spring and celebrates the start of this new Carolingian era in the United Kingdom. The delicate restraint of natural forms combine to form an emblem that captures both the joy and the deep importance of this occasion. “

Only a few days ago, Charles, as the future king, relied on more modern forms for his symbols. On a stamp just presented in his honor, he decided to do without the crown that is traditionally seen there. Instead, only his well-known profile adorns the brand. The abandonment of the royal symbol was noted with interest by observers.

Jony Ive designing the logo is less odd than it might first appear. While Ive rose to fame primarily as Apple’s chief designer, he created some of the most iconic devices in Apple and the industry with the colorful iMacs, iPod, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Born in Britain, he has also been associated with the royal family for a long time. He has been a member of the Royal Academy of Design since 2006 and currently serves as Chancellor of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. And, as the title suggests, Sir Jony was knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2006. By the way, Ive hasn’t been with Apple for a few years now. In 2019 he announced his retirement from the company.
