After there were recently several suspected corona cases in the squad of Liverpool FC, Jürgen Klopp has now apparently also caught. His club announced that he had already gone into isolation.
Coach Jürgen Klopp missed the Premier League top game of his Liverpool FC at Chelsea on Sunday due to suspected corona infection. The 54-year-old coach is suspected of having a positive corona test result, Liverpool announced on New Year’s Day. Klopp is in isolation with mild symptoms. In the top duel of the English football championship of Third Liverpool at Second Chelsea with coach Thomas Tuchel this Sunday (5.30 p.m.), Klopp is missing according to the club.
The team will then be looked after by assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders. Klopp announced on Friday that there had been three other suspected corona cases in the Liverpool professional team. There were also new positive tests in the supervisory staff.
In addition to Klopp, three other supervisors suspect Corona
The club said on Saturday that there were no other positive cases within the team apart from the three players mentioned by Klopp. However, three members of the supervisory staff are suspected of being corona.
“It’s not that cool at the moment,” Klopp said on Friday. Every morning it feels like a lottery waiting for the result. “We haven’t had an outbreak with ten, 15, 20 players so far, but it’s another one every day,” said the coach.
