Concern for elderly Israelis

Israel is the first country in the world to rely on this vaccination booster. The goal is better protection of older, particularly vulnerable people from serious illnesses with the delta variant of the coronavirus.

The number of serious illnesses is increasing and has reached its highest level since April. The number of new infections in Israel was recently as high as in Germany at around 2400 daily. However, there are more than nine times as many people in the Federal Republic of Germany.
