Thailand is also opening up to people who have been vaccinated from Germany

Germans will be able to travel quarantine-free to Thailand again from November 1, provided they are fully vaccinated against the corona virus. As Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said in a televised address, ten countries with low incidence of corona are on the list, including the US, Singapore and China. Vacationers only need to do one PCR test before they leave and another when they arrive in Thailand, Prayut said. After that, they could travel freely to all parts of the country. More countries are to be added from December 1st. According to the information, the serving of alcohol in restaurants, which has been banned for months due to a severe corona wave, will then be allowed again.

Lower Saxony: NDR.de broadcasts corona press conference

The Lower Saxony crisis team headed by Heiger Scholz and his deputy Claudia Schröder informed today about the development of the corona indicators. As usual, NDR.de will broadcast the weekly press conference live from 1 p.m. A major focus of the country’s corona policy is to get through autumn and winter as well as possible. Another topic could be the procedure in Lower Saxony’s schools after the autumn break. In the new Corona regulation, which has been in force since Friday, the country recently decided on further freedoms for vaccinated and recovered people. For example, for events that are carried out in the 2G model, the upper limit for visitors is no longer applicable. In addition, the country has drawn up the regulations for Christmas market visits in the 3G model.

City of Hamburg has paid out 122 million euros to the cultural scene

Since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, more than 122 million euros in financial aid from the city have already flowed to Hamburg theaters, museums, clubs, organizers, artists and cultural projects. For example, Hamburg made 100 million euros available in 2020, said a spokesman for the cultural authority, according to a dpa report from today. In 2021, the city added a further 22 million euros. Around 10 million euros flowed into the summer of culture, which was supposed to help the industry restart and was seen as the start of the restart of culture. Corona aid from the city and federal government should continue to flow in the coming months, even if many music venues, theaters and cinemas have resumed operations. So there will be more money from the nationwide special fund for culture if an organizer does not yet fully utilize its house out of caution despite the 2G regulation. “This is an important sign, especially for the organizers who want to show consideration for visitors who are still concerned,” said Senator for Culture Carsten Brosda (SPD).

Seven-day incidence nationwide almost constant: 4,971 new corona cases

The seven-day incidence in Germany remains at a similar level. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) gave the value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week this morning as 65.8. Yesterday the value was 66.5, a week ago it was 63.6. In contrast, a month ago the incidence was 80.2. The health authorities in Germany reported 4,971 new corona infections to the RKI within one day (previous week: 4,799). The number of corona patients admitted to clinics per 100,000 inhabitants within seven days was given by the RKI on Monday as 1.58 (Friday: 1.67). A nationwide threshold, from when the situation can be viewed critically, is not provided for the incidence of hospitalization, among other things because of large regional differences. The previous high was around 15.5 around Christmas time.
