Karl Lauterbach promised an end to the pandemic – but unfortunately not until next spring. There will be a new wave in the next few months. That is why his Federal Ministry of Health continues to adhere to the obligation to isolate and wear masks on buses and trains.
SZ health expert Christina Berndt is also preparing for another winter wave. Nobody can say exactly how severe this will be. However, the new corona variant and the increased RSV and flu infection numbers give cause for concern. Anyone who wants to protect vulnerable groups will continue to wear a mask, says Berndt. She sees a need for action, especially with regard to the financial resources for research into Long Covid.
