Corona incidence in Bavaria again over 100 – Bavaria

For the first time since May, the corona incidence in Bavaria is again above 100. The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reported a value of 100.2 for the Free State on Friday morning. The last time Bavaria was above 100 on May 13th. Nationwide, the Free State thus has the second highest incidence after Thuringia, according to the RKI. At the same time – also for the first time since May – a Bavarian district exceeded the incidence threshold of 300: For Berchtesgadener Land, the RKI reported a value of 312.2 infections per week and 100,000 people. This is also the highest value nationwide. “Most of the infection is currently taking place in schools and kindergartens,” said the district. “More than half of the new cases come from these facilities. The reason for this is that the virus can spread relatively easily among the mostly unvaccinated children and adolescents and the regular tests make this infection process visible.”

Numbers from the RKI from Thursday evening also point in a similar direction: In its weekly report, the seven-day incidence in the age group of ten to 19-year-olds for a total of nine districts and urban districts nationwide was over 500 – four of them are from Bavaria: Berchtesgadener Land, Straubing-Bogen, Traunstein and the city of Rosenheim. In terms of the total population, nine of the ten highest incidences in Germany are currently to be found in Bavaria. The Traunstein district with 259.2, Rosenheim Stadt with 235.9 and the Straubing-Bogen district with 226.1 are in second to fourth place. The lowest incidences in Bavaria are currently in the districts of Tirschenreuth with 15.3, Hof with 36.0 and Fürstenfeldbruck with 38.4.
