In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the authorities have registered 683 new corona infections since Tuesday. 22 Covid patients were treated in intensive care units across the country. The hospitalization incidence is 1.5.

The number of registered new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has increased by 683 cases since Tuesday (as of Wednesday 3:50 p.m.). That’s 232 fewer cases than a week ago. The number of deaths is 2,211 (+3).

According to LAGuS, as of Monday (May 16), 3,382,040 vaccine doses have been administered in the north-east. Accordingly, 1,212,096 people have been vaccinated at least once and are thus partially immunized (vaccination rate 75.2 percent). 1,196,136 people (vaccination rate 74.3 percent) are basic immunized, i.e. double vaccinated or recovered and vaccinated. 929,872 people have received a booster vaccination (vaccination rate 57.7 percent), 84,952 people have already received the second booster vaccination (vaccination rate 5.3 percent). The vaccination figures are reported weekly by LAGuS.

Hospitalization incidence is 1.5

The incidence value of corona patients brought to a clinic for treatment within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants is 1.5 (+0.1). According to figures from LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 212 (-9) people are being treated in a hospital nationwide for Covid 19 disease. According to LAGuS, 22 (+0) of them are in an intensive care unit. According to the intensive care register (as of Tuesday 3:05 p.m.), 12 (+1) patients are being ventilated invasively.

Highest hospitalization incidence in Schwerin

As of Wednesday, Schwerin had the highest incidence of hospitalization at 3.1. It is followed by the district of Rostock with 2.3, the city of Rostock and the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim with 1.4 each, Northwest Mecklenburg, Western Pomerania-Rügen and Western Pomerania-Greifswald with 1.3 each and the Mecklenburg Lake District with 0.8.

New infection incidence nationwide at 285.6

The seven-day incidence of new infections was 285.6 (-15.6) nationwide as of Wednesday. Northwest Mecklenburg has the highest value with 381.7, the lowest in the Mecklenburg Lake District with 211.6. Vorpommern-Greifswald reports the most newly infected people with 102 new cases. It is followed by the district of Rostock (101), the Mecklenburg Lake District (90), Northwest Mecklenburg (88), Ludwigslust-Parchim (87), Western Pomerania-Rügen (82), the city of Rostock (69) and Schwerin (64).

148 teenagers infected

LAGuS publishes a status report on the corona situation among children and young people, which is broken down by age group. According to the report on Wednesday (May 18), there were 34 new infections among 0-5 year olds nationwide, the seven-day incidence of new infections in this group was 176. In the 6-11 year old group there were 75 new infections, the incidence was 302. In addition, 148 young people between the ages of 12 and 17 were infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, according to LAGuS. The seven-day incidence in this group was 525. The regional leader was the group of 12 to 17-year-olds in the Northwest Mecklenburg district with an incidence of 919.

On Tuesday (May 17), LAGuS reported 16 active cases of infection (-14) from the geriatric care facilities. 245 residents (-274) and 97 employees (-110) were affected. The numbers are reported weekly by LAGuS.
