In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the authorities have registered 4,254 new corona infections since Sunday. 91 Covid patients are being treated in intensive care units nationwide. The seven-day incidence of new infections rises to 2,266.9, the national hospitalization incidence is 10.6. The nationwide Corona traffic light is still on “red”.
The number of registered new corona infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania has increased by 4,254 cases since Sunday (as of Monday 4:52 p.m.). That’s 1,543 more cases than a week ago. The number of deaths stands at 1,866 (+9).

According to LAGuS, as of Monday, 3,224,846 doses of vaccine have been administered in the north-east. Accordingly, 1,195,987 people have been vaccinated at least once and are thus partially immunized (vaccination rate 74.2 percent). 1,194,110 people are basic immunized, i.e. double vaccinated (vaccination rate 74.1 percent). 900,668 people received a booster vaccination (vaccination rate 55.9 percent).
Hospitalization incidence is 10.6
The incidence value of corona patients brought to a clinic for treatment within seven days per 100,000 inhabitants is 10.6 (+0.7). The nationwide Corona traffic light is still on “red”. According to figures from LAGuS and the Ministry of Health, 694 (+42) people are currently being treated in a hospital nationwide for Covid 19 disease. According to LAGuS, 91 (-3) of them are in an intensive care unit. According to the intensive care register (as of Monday 4:05 p.m.), 38 (+3) patients are being ventilated invasively.
Highest hospitalization incidence in Western Pomerania-Greifswald
The district of Vorpommern-Greifswald has the highest incidence of hospitalization at 15.3. This is followed by Western Pomerania-Rügen with 14.6, the Mecklenburg Lake District with 10.9, Ludwigslust-Parchim with 9.4, the district of Rostock with 9.2, Schwerin with 8.4, the Hanseatic city of Rostock with 7.7 and Northwest Mecklenburg with 6 ,3.
New infection incidence in Western Pomerania-Rügen at 2,651
The seven-day incidence of new infections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania is only a secondary criterion for determining the corona protection measures. According to LAGuS, the threshold values were raised here by a factor of seven: According to calculations, the risk that treatment in an intensive care unit will be necessary is about seven times lower in the case of an infection with the currently dominant omicron variant than with the delta variant .
The seven-day new incidence rises to 2,266.9 (+87.1) in the country. Vorpommern-Rügen has the highest incidence of new infections with 2,651, the lowest in the Mecklenburg Lake District with 1,116. Since December 2021, the LAGuS has no longer reported the incidence broken down into vaccinated and unvaccinated people because the data transmitted too late would result in “incomplete representations”.

916 new infections in the Hanseatic city of Rostock
The Hanseatic city of Rostock reports the most newly infected people with 916 cases. This is followed by the Vorpommern-Greifswald district (861), the Rostock district (768), Northwest Mecklenburg (503), the Mecklenburg Lake District (441), Vorpommern-Rügen (352), Schwerin (230) and Ludwigslust-Parchim (183).
Seven-day incidence in 6- to 11-year-olds rises to 5,531 in MV
LAGuS has not published any separate school and day-care center figures since January. Instead, there is a status report that is broken down by age group. According to this, there are (as of Monday 12:55 p.m.) 127 new infections nationwide among 0 to 5 year olds, the seven-day incidence of new infections in this group is 2,581. In the group of 6 to 11 year olds there are 214 new infections, the incidence is 5,572. According to LAGuS, 194 young people between the ages of 12 and 17 were also infected in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The seven-day incidence in this group is 4,445. The regional leader is the group of 6 to 11-year-olds in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg with an incidence of 7,558.
The LAGuS reports 77 active cases of infection (-15) from the geriatric care facilities. 1,293 residents (-77) and 648 employees (-101) are affected.
