The Standing Vaccination Committee (Stiko) has just recommended the booster vaccination for all children and young people between the ages of twelve and 17. Previously, this only applied to adults. How important is the third injection for this age group, what is the risk of side effects and what about children and young people who have just been infected? Carsten Watzl, Professor of Immunology at the University of Dortmund and Secretary General of the German Society for Immunology, answered the SZ’s most important questions.
