Corona credit line should be adhered to – Bavaria

Despite the dynamism of the pandemic, the state government wants to adhere to the corona credit line of a maximum of 20 billion euros approved by the state parliament. 5.9 billion euros of this are to be pushed into the new year as credit authorizations, as a buffer, so to speak. The cabinet decided on Monday. The budget plan for 2022 amounts to a total of 71 billion euros, slightly below the volume in the current budget year. Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) called the design a “total work of art”, “serious, stable and solid”, but with the right accents: “Time keeps turning, with or without Corona.” Finance Minister Albert Füracker (CSU) emphasized that he hoped that the expenditure discipline of the departments and the improving tax estimate would compensate for lost income without new loans. The state parliament must finally decide on the budget. Traditionally, the biggest item is education, with a focus on climate protection and digitization. Digital Minister Judith Gerlach (CSU) is to implement a broad package of measures. The Bavarian Community Congress praised the fact that the Free State “stands by its word” and compensated them for the trade tax loss with 330 million euros.
