Right-wing extremism remains a social problem in Saxony. Right scene changes
But even these figures are only partially meaningful, the report admits. Because fixed structures such as parties would increasingly lose their importance for the scene. The “destructuring” of the right-wing scene has continued, said the President of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution of Saxony, Dirk-Martin Christian. Revolutionary fantasies are increasingly being developed in closed chat groups, and fake news and hatred against those who think differently and elected officials are spread on social media.
Thus a new type of extremist endeavor emerged for the constitution protection authorities, which is more difficult to grasp. Recognizing these networks is a very special challenge for the authorities. Furthermore, according to the report on the protection of the constitution, the scene is increasingly promoting the settlement of right-wing extremists in central Germany, for example in the Leisnig area in the central Saxony district.
