Complaints and reports to justice after death threats received by several candidates

“Given the emotion aroused by these death threats within the production teams and our duty to protect the candidates, reports to the public prosecutor are made by ALP”, specified Mathias Chichportich, the lawyer of this production company.

“The networks spoil the adventure for us”

Several candidates have themselves lodged a complaint. “I lodged a complaint to show that we can be punished,” explains a candidate, Coumba, saying that she was the target of death threats and racist insults on social networks.

“I went to file a complaint on Wednesday,” said another candidate, Christelle, who said she couldn’t wait for the show to end because “the networks are spoiling the adventure for us”. According to her, these threats are linked to a cheating case revealed on November 9. During the episode that aired that night, one of the iconic contestants, Teheiura, confessed to having obtained food from the outside, including a “steak frites”. What is strictly prohibited by the regulations of this successful show on TF1, which features the survival of isolated candidates in faraway places and in the middle of nature.

According to the production company ALP (Adventure Line Production), the death threats target in particular the Polynesian’s teammates, wrongly accused by anonymous Internet users of having denounced him.

“No adventurer has denounced Teheiura on the fact that he received food at the camp. Teheiura alone confessed his moment of bewilderment. No event related to this game gives the right to send insults, threats and hate messages. We strongly denounce this kind of behavior and advise adventurers to file a complaint ”, indicated
ALP in a message posted on Twitter on Tuesday.
