Committee on secularism, weather alert and Donnarumma at PSG

Did you miss the early morning news? We have concocted a recap to help you see more clearly.

A new page will be written for secularism. Jean Castex will indeed install this Thursday morning the interministerial committee on this issue. Bringing together around ten members of the government, it marks the effective replacement of the Observatory of Secularism, a consultative body abolished by decree a month ago after being accused of lax vis-à-vis Islamism, which those responsible have always defended themselves. This first interministerial committee will notably have to endorse an action plan in 17 measures, ranging from the training of all public officials to monitoring the deployment of “secularity referents” in the administrations.

Part of France will still live this Thursday under the threat of the whims of the sky. Heavy rains continue this Thursday in the east of the country. Ten departments have been placed in orange vigilance by Météo-France. Orange “rain-flood” vigilance is underway in Haute-Marne, Haute-Saône, Doubs and Jura, due to a new “heavy rain” episode, “unusual for the season, involving large areas”. The Aisne, the Ardennes, the Marne, the Meuse, the Meurthe-et-Moselle and the Vosges are on orange alert for floods. To learn more, it’s here.

It is a champagne announcement of this transfer window. Paris Saint-Germain formalized the arrival of Gianluigi Donnarumma on Wednesday. Fresh winner of the Euro with Italy, elected best player of the competition in the wake, the young goalkeeper of 22 years has committed for five seasons with the vice-champion of France. We are now impatiently awaiting what the competition between the transalpine doorman and Keylor Navas will give.
