Climate protection: Oberschleißheim draws up a list of priorities – Munich district

With a whole catalog of measures, the municipality of Oberschleißheim wants to become climate-neutral in the long term. At the end of January, the local politicians had already been working on the necessary steps to achieve this goal, which were proposed by the Munich-Ebersberg energy agency. Among other things, this involves the determination of areas for wind power and photovoltaic systems and the creation of a separate heating strategy for the municipality.

The factions in the municipal council then had a month to prioritize the points. In the most recent meeting, the fundamental decision was made to set out on the path to climate neutrality – and to work through the items on the list. An urban planning site concept for a suitable photovoltaic open space system is to be drawn up soon. As far as the community’s heat supply is concerned, Oberschleißheim wants to define so-called priority areas that lend themselves to grid-connected or decentralized solutions; an expansion of district heating should also be examined.

It is about possible routes and examining the extent to which the municipality can count on state subsidies. Wind power, a topic that the Greens have at the top of their agenda in the municipal council, does not appear in the initially only three-point prioritized list.
