The civil rights movement NAACP has issued a travel warning for the US state of Florida for African Americans and members of other minorities. The reason is the restrictive policy of Governor DeSantis.
It is one of the oldest and most influential black civil rights movements in the United States: the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP).
And she is now warning African-Americans and members of other minorities against traveling to Florida – because the state is openly hostile to them.

Criticism of Governor DeSantis
The travel warning, according to the NAACP Board of Directors, is a direct response to “aggressive attempts by Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis to erase black history and limit diversity, equity and inclusion in Florida’s schools.” A few days ago, two other organizations campaigning for the rights of immigrants and homosexuals issued similar warnings.
Florida, under DeSantis’ leadership, has banned certain approaches to teaching the history of slavery, as well as teaching about sex or diversity in elementary schools, among other things. The rules for migrants have also recently been tightened.
No response to travel warning yet
DeSantis has not yet commented on the travel warning. According to US media, the 44-year-old wants to declare his candidacy for the 2024 presidential election in the coming days. Within the party, he is considered the most promising competitor of ex-President Trump.
