At the beginning of December, a 14-year-old was so badly injured in a knife attack in Illerkirchberg that she died in hospital. During a civil dialogue, her father now expressed a specific wish.

The father of the 14-year-old who was killed spoke up during a public dialogue about the bloody knife attack on two schoolgirls in Illerkirchberg in Baden-Württemberg.

He and his wife wished for the future that the scene of the crime would be redesigned in such a way that nothing would remind of it. “My other two children are afraid to walk past it,” said the visibly moved man in front of more than 250 citizens of the small community on Wednesday evening.

His daughter was so badly injured in the knife attack on December 5 on her way to school that she died in hospital. Her 13-year-old friend escaped with serious injuries. The alleged perpetrator is an asylum seeker from Eritrea. The 27-year-old has now confessed to the crime. However, the motive remains unclear. According to the investigation, the suspect and the victims did not know each other.

Also discussion about other offenders

The case of a convicted criminal from Afghanistan who had to be housed again in the community also caused discussions during the exchange, which lasted several hours. In 2019, the man and other men in a refugee home in Illerkirchberg raped a 14-year-old several times.

The 30-year-old was required to report regularly to the authorities after his release from prison and to remain in the district. But now he’s gone into hiding. According to the police, he is advertised to determine his whereabouts.
