City closes parks all weekend in preparation for Storm Domingos

Barely reopened, already closed. You’ll have to find another place for your little weekend walk: this Friday, the Nantes town hall announces that the parks and enclosed gardens will remain closed Saturday and Sunday, until Monday morning, “due to precipitation and significant winds expected this weekend and damage already noted.”

Like other western departments, Loire-Atlantique should in fact see the passage of storm Domingos, three days after Ciaran, which has already caused damage (including numerous tree falls) in the department. The depression should be of lower intensity since winds of up to 100 km/h are expected inland, and gusts of 120 km/h on the coast. They should be particularly strong Saturday afternoon and late in the day.

“Depending on the inventory which will be carried out by the city services on Monday morning, the 22 enclosed green spaces (…) will be able to gradually reopen during the day of November 6. During this period, the city of Nantes recommends that its residents stay away from trees, not take shelter under vegetation and postpone non-essential outdoor activities around green spaces open 24 hours a day. »

On the night of storm Ciaran, around forty interventions took place in Nantes metropolis in connection with tree falls or branches.
