Living room essentials

It is most often in the living room that the tree is installed, and that a large part of the festivities takes place. It is also the room to be decorated as a priority to chill in a cocooning atmosphere that smells good Christmas throughout the month of December. In short ! We pamper the room!

Mission number one: make a beautiful tree. If you don’t feel like picking up thorns everywhere at the end of the festivities (or having to worry about getting rid of your tree), the synthetic tree is a must. The wooden Christmas tree is a very pretty alternative. Think of the model with fairly wide branches, which can accommodate traditional Christmas decorations to hang as well as small decorations – such as LED candle lights.

The fir tree is the icon of Christmas. To spread the festive spirit throughout the whole living room (or even the whole house!), the miniature versions are just as essential. Depending on the style of decoration that appeals to you, you can opt for candles, small synthetic models, or even for a wooden Christmas decoration with stylized lines.

The wreath is originally made of green branches – because it symbolizes hope and renewal. Although it now comes in a wide variety of more contemporary designs, this traditional decoration is one of the Christmas essentials. We generally choose a model in harmony with the decoration of the tree, and we hang it on the window or on the mantle of the fireplace. And, of course, you can also hang one on the front door!

The Advent Calendar

The Advent calendar offers a little surprise every day, while waiting for Christmas – and for that alone, it would be a shame to do without it! It is also a central decorative element, to breathe a little festive spirit into the house throughout the month of December!

In recent years, designers have revisited the traditional crib to offer very contemporary reinterpretations. It’s up to you to see if you fall for the nativity or for a small group of emblematic characters, such as the Magi.

The Christmas Village

The alternative to the crèche is the Christmas village. Victorian houses for a vintage Christmas or clean lines for a more modern Christmas: this basic comes in a wide choice of designs. This type of decoration is offered in miniature to XXL versions, and you can therefore fall for one of these skits even in a small living room.

  Candles

The essential touch for the holidays is a soft and relaxing lighting atmosphere. And for that, only one solution: adopt candles. We do not hesitate to collect them and dispose of them in the living room, but also throughout the house. Prefer large formats, which will accompany you throughout the month of December.

The Christmas Mug

What could be nicer than sipping your favorite hot drink while admiring the tree? To really be in the Christmas spirit, we put on a seasonal cup or mug! And you can even make it a decorative element to offer candy canes or chocolates.

  The sock

Legend has it that Saint Nicholas, touched by the plight of a poor family, poured a large bag of coins down the chimney. These landed in the socks they had put out to dry. Since then, the Christmas sock has remained a symbol of luck and prosperity. And whether it is very simple or embroidered, it is one of the decorations that we cannot do without!

Dining room essentials

On New Year’s Eve, special care is of course given to the composition of the dining room table. And here too, some decorative accessories are absolutely essential!

And while waiting for D-Day, we place an Advent wreath adorned with 4 candles on the table. Traditionally, one is lit every Sunday before Christmas Day.

All it takes is a tablecloth to give the table a festive look. The secret is to choose it in harmony with the dishes. If you opt for plates embellished with patterns, choose a tablecloth in sober colors; on the other hand, with a minimalist tableware, you can allow yourself more fantasy.

The Light Garland

When taking out the garlands that will decorate your interior for Christmas, remember to reserve a luminous model for the table. Whether it runs along the table runner, in all simplicity, or adorns the center of the table, it will bring the essential final touch to your decor.

The essential light garland combines with candles to create a truly intimate and warm atmosphere around the table. The good idea is to adopt the mix and match, by combining classic candles and tealights. If the traditional models have an undeniable charm, you can move towards LED models.

The Candle Holder

To stage the candles that will illuminate the table, it is impossible to do without a suitable support. Refined candlestick for a table with a precious decoration or vintage candle holder for a decoration that focuses on charm and authenticity: it’s up to you!
