The police said there had been a wild chase beforehand. The Audi was noticed by a police patrol around 4:30 a.m. According to the police, the car raced at more than 200 kilometers per hour on several motorways and country roads – sometimes in one direction, sometimes in the other.

Suspected ATM demolition: Police warn of hitchhikers

Finally, the police near Ahlhorn put a strip of nails on the roadway of the A29. The occupants left the car and fled through a wooded area. Explosives of the kind used by ATM machines were finally found in the trunk. Experts have now rendered him harmless, but the A29 has now been blocked in both directions. The police are looking for the perpetrators with a helicopter and a hundred in the surrounding forests. It is said that the perpetrators could not have got far. The police warn against picking up hitchhikers in the region. In Schleswig-Holstein there had been a machine explosion during the night.
