In 2001, Shannen Doherty left the hit series “Charmed.” In her podcast, she blamed her co-star Alyssa Milano for her departure.

In 1998, a female dream trio was launched with the US television series “Charmed – Magical Witches” – at least that was the impression people initially had in front of the TV sets. Holly Marie Combs (50), Alyssa Milano (50) and Shannen Doherty (52) took on the roles of the legendary Halliwell sisters. But after three seasons, Doherty voluntarily left the series in 2001 and died. Combs and Milano lasted five more seasons as a duo before the series was canceled in 2006. Since then, there have been repeated rumors about arguments on set.

Now Doherty spoke alongside Combs on her new podcast “Let’s Be Clear with Shannen Doherty” openly about the time at that time and hardly gave a damn about her colleague Alyssa Milano, who she blames for the misery. Milano broke everyone up and tried to drive a wedge between Doherty and Combs, who are still very good friends to this day. “That was really interesting. She tried to pull you away from me,” Doherty said.

Shannen Doherty and Alyssa Milano: “Competitiveness”

At the time, Combs was battling a tumor in her uterus and needed surgery, which put a stop to filming for a total of two weeks. But after the procedure, Milano even actively tried to prevent Doherty from visiting Combs in the hospital. “I waited an extra 24 hours to visit you but was told I wasn’t allowed in,” Doherty said. “Alyssa and her mother were blocking people from seeing you. And you didn’t know it at the time,” Doherty continued.

In general, she always felt a “competitive spirit” towards Milano and a “lack of female support”, which also put a strain on her friendship with Combs. “There was so much drama on set and not enough passion for the work.” Both Doherty and Milano have repeatedly reported tensions on set in recent years. That’s what Milano once said in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight”that there were times that were tough. She and Doherty are “two very different people.”
