Charline Vanhoenacker, here in 2022, put Guillaume Meurice at the heart of her show “Le Grand Dimanche Soir” on France Inter on May 19, 2024.

MEDIA – Absent but definitely not forgotten. The comedian and host Charline Vanhoenacker dedicated her show The Great Sunday Evening this Sunday, May 19 to its columnist Guillaume Meurice, still suspended for repeating his joke about Benjamin Netanyahu, “sort of Nazi without foreskin”.

“This time we are missing two, two members of the troop. The disciplinary procedure against Guillaume is still ongoing and as a sign of protest, Aymeric (Lompret) chose to stay at the bar”, began Charline Vanhoenacker, also producer of the Sunday show. Aymeric Lompret had in fact announced two days earlier that he would not be on the air. His message posted on Instagram was accompanied by a photo of him at the bar with a pint of beer.

“Every week we lose a columnist, it has become Koh Lanta this show. The adventurers of Radio France have decided to eliminate you. So we hope that this sentence is not irrevocable”joked the comedian, using the cult phrase of the host of the TF1 reality show Denis Brogniart.

“We are accused of making jokes”

In her introductory post, she clarified that she refused the “reinforcements” proposed by management. “We do not replace a comrade who has been unfairly sanctioned, and we do not replace a comrade who protests in solidarity. So there will be two microphones off this evening”, she said. And to regret: “We were hired to make jokes and now we’re being criticized for making jokes. »

The rest of the show, which takes place live and with an audience, was punctuated with references to the Guillaume Meurice affair. The latter was removed from the radio on May 2, for having repeated his joke about Benjamin Netanyahu which had already created controversy last fall. This Sunday instead of his column, the title Bad reputation by Georges Brassens was broadcast. A title not chosen at random.

In protest, The Great Sunday Evening was not broadcast last Sunday. The entire crew of the show had gone on strike, and the France Inter channels had been disrupted all day.
