Nagelsmann appeals to Bayern stars – praise for Stanisic

Julian Nagelsmann wants to see the characteristics of his stars when they reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League on a regular basis. There is a special praise for the Mbappé guard and the neighbors.
Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann sees the appearance of his pros in the successful duel with Kylian Mbappé and Lionel Messi as a football blueprint for further tasks this season.
“If we combine maximum greed and emotionality with the quality we have, then we can achieve anything,” said Nagelsmann after Bayern Munich’s 2-0 win in the round of 16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
After the German record champions won the first leg 1-0 with a goal from Kingsley Coman, they safely advanced to the quarter-finals of the Champions League after goals from Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (61st minute) and Serge Gnabry (89th). The round of the top eight will be drawn on March 17th. In addition to Bayern, Chelsea, AC Milan and Benfica Lisbon have all qualified for the next knockout round.

What the success against PSG will bring for the other tasks, “the further course of the season will show. I hope a lot of self-confidence,” said Nagelsmann. If you show the qualities like we did against Paris, “then we are very difficult to beat”. On the other hand, you have to tremble if you don’t succeed. If you “just want to gamble”, it will also be difficult in the Bundesliga. FC Augsburg is the next opponent there this Saturday.
The 35-year-old gave special praise for the defensive line at the Paris appearance. Croatian full-back Josip Stanisic “made a world-class game with the other two,” said Nagelsmann. By that he meant Dayot Upamecano and Matthijs de Ligt.
