It’s going to England. FC Bayern Munich will face Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The draw in Nyon at a glance.

Record champions Bayern Munich face ex-coach Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. That was the result of the draw on Friday afternoon in Nyon, Switzerland, by former Schalke and Bayern player Hamit Altintop and former Dutch international Patrick Kluivert as “Losfeen”.

FC Bayern must first play away from home in the quarter-finals. The other matches in the round of eight are as follows:

  • Real Madrid vs Chelsea FC
  • Inter Milan vs Benfica Lisbon
  • AC Milan vs SSC Napoli

The quarter-final first legs will take place on April 11 and 12, with the second legs following a week later.

Bayern’s sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić said after the draw: “These are the pairings that are the best in this quarter-final. I like playing against the good guys. Our lads are always focused.” He described Manchester City as the strongest opponent. “This is another small final for us.”

Possible semi-finals of the Champions League are also certain

At the same time, after the draw, the possible semi-finals (9th to 17th May) of the premier class are certain:

  • AC Milan/SSC Napoli vs. Inter Milan/Benfica Lisbon
  • Real Madrid/Chelsea vs. Manchester City/Bayern Munich

The Champions League final will take place in Istanbul on June 10th. Bayern Munich is the last German representative in the competition. For BVB, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig it was the end of the last sixteen. Bayer Leverkusen continued to play in the Europa League after finishing third in the preliminary round.

The Europa League quarterfinals will be played from April 13th to 20th and the semifinals from May 11th to 18th. The finale will take place in Budapest on May 31st.
