“What is happening is serious”. These words are taken from an SMS sent this Friday by Christine Berrou to his hierarchy who, a few minutes earlier, asked the comedian to remove a joke on Eric Zemmour scheduled for his Sunday column on Europe 1.
“It is more reasonable to withdraw this allusion to Zemmour”, one explains to the one who officiates on the radio station since 2014. Instinctively, she then decides to resign. “Where freedom of expression has no place, I have no place either,” she wrote in response.

In an interview with Telerama, Christine Berrou came back to the facts. In his column, the comedian winked at Father’s Day by imagining a dialogue between a teacher and her students. “We’re going to make noodle necklaces. No, my daddy, he’s allergic to gluten! Okay, so we’re going to make some leather keyrings. No, my daddy, he’s vegan, he doesn’t wear leather! Okay, so we’re going to draw some smiling men. No, my dad is Eric Zemmour, he doesn’t like happy people, ”she had to exclaim.
The surprise was only greater when Christine Berrou learned that a journalist had been summoned by the management of the radio for a launch which contained a spike sent to the CNews polemicist and that it was therefore better to play it low profile . “This censorship means that a dangerous person is becoming untouchable, and I do not want to participate in that”, explains the comedian to our colleagues.
The resignation of the comedian, columnist in the morning of the weekend and author for the daily show of Anne Roumanoff, is one more example added to the social crisis that Europe 1 is going through. Since Friday, the employees of the radio have decided to go on strike to protest the dismissal of a journalist, as tensions mount over the merger with CNews.
