Celine Dion remembers her husband, who died six years ago, on Instagram. You can still hear his words today.
René Angélil (1942-2016), husband of Céline Dion (53), died six years ago as a result of cancer. On the anniversary of his death, the singer explains how much she still misses him. “I would be lying if I said I was fine” writes the world star to a photo on Instagram showing Angélil.
She thinks of him at least a hundred times, “because in the echo of my voice I hear your words, just like if you were there,” Dion continues. “I miss you.” A few months after Angélil’s death, she declared in the US media that she had lost the love of her life.
“There isn’t a day that we don’t think of you”
In the past year Dion also had a touching post on the fifth anniversary of his death written in her name and that of their children. She had been married to Angélil since 1994. Her son René-Charles was born in 2001, followed by twins Nelson and Eddy in 2010.
“René, it’s been five years… There isn’t a day that we don’t think of you,” Dion wrote. “Now more than ever, we ask you to guide us, protect us and continue to watch over us. And we pray that you will shine your love on the whole world, on all those who are going through incredibly difficult times right now .” Angélil will always be in the hearts and lives of his wife and children.
