Ekow Nimako, 42, Canadian-Ghanaian artist, builds on a large scale. He makes sculptures – only from Lego bricks and always in black. His works are very different from what Lego usually stands for, said Nimako the broadcaster CNN: “This is art. No hobby, no toy.” He started in 2012, two years later he built the first human figure, “Flower Girl”, with which he wants to remember the story of enslaved black women. The sculpture was originally the size of a six-year-old, but after being redesigned it is now the size of a ten-year-old. For each work he needs 50 to 800 hours.
Diane Kruger, 45, Hollywood star, had a hard time with Quentin Tarantino. The director had everyone auditioned for the casting for the film “Inglorious Basterds” – except for them because he had seen them in a film that he didn’t like. “He didn’t believe in me from the start,” said Kruger on the Reign with Josh Smith podcast. At some point, however, there was no one left who wanted to. For the audition, she then had to fly from New York to Germany at her own expense to meet Tarantino there.
