CDU: Take part! – Politics

from

Boris Herrmann and Robert Roßmann

Once upon a time there was the rule: Nothing is as public as an internal CDU meeting. But some things are changing in this party right now, and that apparently also applies to the piercing morale from ongoing meetings. The usually quite talkative federal executive board holds up on Monday morning for an astonishingly long time. It is therefore almost newsworthy when General Secretary Paul Ziemiak appears in front of the press to announce that the CDU is now serious about its repositioning for the future. “Today the federal board unanimously decided that we will re-elect the entire presidium and the federal board,” says Ziemiak. The two bodies would need a new legitimation after the crash of the Union in the federal election.
