The unity that the Saar CDU has now impressively demonstrated is not far off in the federal government. Everything is now in dispute there. The union is dismantling itself.

There were two sentences that can be understood as a warning to Berlin. In Saarland, Annegret Kramp-Karrenbauer and Peter Altmaier announced that they would be giving up their parliamentary mandates in order to facilitate the renewal of the CDU. And Prime Minister Tobias Hans said on the occasion: “People also want to see a little attitude.” It is “insane to cling to a straw”.
