Jean Castex announced this Saturday at Montagnac, in the Hérault, the creation of an “exceptional solidarity fund” of one billion euros for farmers affected by the intense frost episode which has hit France for nearly two weeks.
“The state must be up to this catastrophe. In exceptional situation, exceptional measures. I have come to announce a significant effort by the State to the tune of one billion euros, because the situation justifies it, ”declared the Prime Minister at the end of a round table with agricultural representatives and elected officials.
