Carmaker Rezvani presents new armored SUV – and receives criticism

The US vehicle manufacturer Rezvani builds large, heavy SUVs. Some of them look so martial that you could get scared of them. And that’s probably the goal. With the Vengeance (“revenge”) model, the company is now presenting a model that could be used to drive through many a war zone in a reasonably alive manner.

All of the advertised extras that the manufacturer advertises on its model page are of no use to most people in everyday traffic. However, the SUV seems to be made for areas where things are not very peaceful. But is it actually legitimate – and legal – to advertise using these features?

Rezvani Vengeance dubbed an “immoral weapon”.

In any case, Instagram users doubt this and do not keep their opinions behind the mountain. Under the posting of the “dezeen” portal about Rezvani’s new SUV, they criticize, for example, that war equipment is being advertised. Among other things, the legality of advertising for the Vengeance is in doubt. One feature in particular catches the eye of users: the optionally available pepper spray, which can be sprayed using an extra device.

This should be used to scare away thieves and burglars if they get too close to the car. Conveniently, the system for this is installed directly in the exterior mirrors. Another security feature is no less wild: the door handles can be energized so that an attacker cannot get any further there either. To add to the confusion, the proud owner of a Rezvani can also use the smoke system to create a dense cloud around the car.

In addition to the pepper spray device, the Vengeance also has extra equipment such as bulletproof windows, a night vision device, strobe lights and gas masks on board. The vehicle is offered from 265,000 US dollars (approx. 265,000 euros).
