Grumbling alarm instead of stiff harmony: The Swedish royal couple Carl Philip and Sofia greet with an unposed holiday snapshot.
Unadulterated holiday snapshot
“We wish you a nice summer!”, the couple wrote on their Instagram page about the private snapshot. The family, which includes Julian, Prince Alexander (8) and Prince Gabriel (7), already seems to be enjoying the summer time to the fullest: In the picture they are sitting together on a wooden bench in front of a hut, all wearing shorts and airy T-shirts. While the two older boys smile mischievously into the camera, the youngest does not seem to be too keen on the shoot. Sitting on his mother’s lap, he grimaces angrily, as small children sometimes do.
But for Carl Philip and Sofia, this is obviously no reason not to publish the picture. This puts them in the ranks of modern aristocratic families whose offspring are allowed to openly show their feelings. In recent years, Julian’s cousin Prince Oscar has often been seen not to be so keen on attending events or being photographed. This quickly earned the boy the title of “grumpy prince” in the media. And in Great Britain, it is the youngest of the Crown Prince couple William (42) and Kate (42), Prince Louis (6), who often makes faces, waves wildly or shows by yawning heartily that an event is far too long and boring for him.
