Police officers are used to a lot in traffic accidents. In two accidents in Texas, however, even experienced officials were surprised.

Everyone has probably asked themselves the question of how other road users got their driving licenses. In two accidents in Kilgore, Texas, the answer is no. A dog at the wheel had rammed two other cars there. The accidents were caused by a chain of unfortunate circumstances.

In any case, one of the rammed drivers could not believe his eyes. The other car suddenly raced towards him as he was maneuvering in the parking lot of a Walmart supermarket. He couldn’t avoid it, he told Fox News. When he wanted to confront the other driver after the crash, he was “shocked”. Instead of a ruthless person, he only found a disturbed-looking four-legged friend behind the wheel.

concatenation of coincidences

The police also confirmed this to the TV station. The officials were called because a white SUV “ruthlessly” raced across the parking lot and grazed another car. When they arrived at the scene of the crime, a dog was actually behind the wheel. “It may sound impossible, but we can confirm that eyewitnesses saw the dog at the wheel prior to the accident,” the Kilgore Police Department said.

According to the officials, the dog waited alone in the car while its owners shopped in the store. He had “become a little restless and started jumping around in the car,” officials said. It was a chain of unfortunate coincidences. Because the lever of the automatic gearshift had already been damaged, it jumped into the driving position after being touched. At the same time, the line would have gotten caught in the device for releasing the handbrake – and the car would start moving. Fortunately, no one was injured in the bizarre accident.

Kilgore residents hilariously laughed at a police Facebook post. The local animal shelter also spoke up there. And emphasized that driving licenses for dogs are still not issued.
