Canada: Blizzard paralyzes Vancouver

Watch the video: Snowstorm paralyzes Vancouver

STORY: Heavy snowfall and poor visibility in Canada. In Vancouver on the Pacific coast, heavy rain brought traffic to a standstill on Tuesday. The second largest airport in the country temporarily suspended operations. This was due to a low pressure system combined with very cold arctic air over British Columbia. The temperatures dropped and up to 25 centimeters of snow fell. Authorities urged people to wear warm clothing and exercise extreme caution on the road. Wintry weather was also recently forecast for part of the United States – which, according to the National Weather Service, could lead to further flight cancellations and delays in some areas.
