The most important car market in the USA heralds the end of the internal combustion engine. From 2035 onwards, California only wants to allow the sale of electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles. Now the US state has asked the government in Washington for a permit. Unlike the EU, the administration of US President Joe Biden has not yet set a date for the end of sales of purely petrol-powered vehicles. However, in addition to California, there are other states in the USA that want to establish their own laws on the end of combustion engines. Washington is planning the strictest ban. Gasoline and diesel cars will no longer be registered there by 2030.
