Cafés in Munich: Drinks in the evening and hangover breakfast in the morning at the Loretta Bar – Munich

In the Loretta Bar on Müllerstrasse you can start the evening with a beer or an aperitivo. Located in the middle of the Glockenbachviertel, the restaurant is an ideal starting point for whatever the next few hours might bring. You can either move on from here or stay, drink a few more cocktails and enjoy the lively atmosphere of the bar, which has long been considered a Munich institution.

If the night has gotten a little wilder, the Loretta Bar is also a place to return to the next morning. Because here you don’t just have drinks in the evening, but also breakfast, until the afternoon.

The short breakfast menu is mainly made up of classics. There are croissants and also eggs with bread and bacon, which, like the Croque Madame (9.80 euros), are ideal as a hangover breakfast and are quickly brought to the table by the attentive staff. If you like something healthier in the morning, choose a porridge (11.90 euros) or from various yoghurt variations (9.80 to 11.80 euros). The Bircher muesli (10.90 euros) is particularly popular – overnight oats with grated apple, fruit and honey. Vegan dishes are also available in the Loretta Bar.

But the restaurant is not just suitable for getting out of the hangover. Some move their office to the bar, which opens at eight in the morning. In addition to the cappuccino cups, the laptops are opened during the day. People meet to talk to customers and network. At midday the customers mingle for lunch. Between Munich residents and regular guests there are also some international guests. However, you should know during Oktoberfest: Dirndls and lederhosen are prohibited in the Loretta Bar from 7 p.m.

Bavarian costume doesn’t really fit the style of the simply furnished bar. An eye-catcher inside is the large golden column that separates the bar area from the tables between the many tables, stools and wooden benches. In 2012, the operators expanded the initially smaller bar by renting the shop next door. After the renovations, the column remained.

Through the large window fronts you can always see what’s happening on the colorful Müllerstrasse, where the tram rattles by outside and you can keep an eye out for extravagant outfits. If you want to immerse yourself even more in the hustle and bustle of the Glockenbachviertel, sit down at one of the tables in front of the bar, which is located directly on Müllerstrasse.
