Cabaret artist and songwriter Fredl Fesl is dead – Culture

The Bavarian singer-songwriter and cabaret artist Fredl Fesl has died. He died on Tuesday after a long, serious illness, his wife Monika told the German Press Agency on Wednesday. She thereby confirmed information from several media outlets. He was 76 years old.

At the end of the 1970s, Fesl became the epitome of the witty, “melancholic” Bavarian songwriter. His trademark were pieces framed by long, winding prefaces such as the legendary “Königsjodler”, the “Taxilied” or the “Glockensong”.
