Almost every top club should be interested in BVB striker Erling Haaland. Does Manchester City have the best cards in poker for the Norwegian?
Hardly a day goes by without rumors about Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund. According to the English newspaper The Times Mino Raiola, advisor to the BVB goal scorer, is to hold talks with Manchester City in January about a move in the summer of 2022.
As with Manchester United, Haaland is also the top transfer target for City for the coming summer. The newspaper assumes that the talks with the Haaland side will be less difficult than last summer with Tottenham Hotspur’s dream striker Harry Kane, who had been wooed in vain.
According to the Times the Skyblues may have the best chance of getting Haaland. The reasons given include the family connection to the club, for which Haaland’s father Alf-Inge played as a player from 2000 to 2003.
It is also said that Alf-Inge Haaland has a very good relationship with Björn Gulden, the boss of City outfitter Puma, who is vying for an advertising contract with Haaland junior.

Haaland can leave BVB next summer thanks to an exit clause. This can grow to up to 90 million euros. In addition to ManCity, the paper also names Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain as possible buyers for the Norwegian.
It seems clear at the moment that Haaland is unlikely to land at FC Barcelona. The Catalans recently stated that the financial framework does not allow a Haaland transfer.
In Dortmund, however, they continue to hope that the striker will play another season for the Westphalia. “I can fully understand him if he wants to stay! Because it’s great in Dortmund, because he knows what he’s got here,” said Mats Hummels Sports picture . “I haven’t given up hope that he’ll stay for a long time.”
